Sue worked as a freelance copywriter in advertising and marketing in London and the West of England for many years, during which time she gained experience in the charity sector.
In 2006 her partner Andrew took a job in Johannesburg and, since then, Sue has divided her time between her base in the UK and South Africa. When in Joburg, Sue volunteers with a non-profit organisation called Edu Fun, teaching English to Grade 3 and 4 learners (aged 8-10) at a township school in one of the city’s most impoverished communities.
In 2012 Sue initiated a further education project to help Matrics from Diepsloot go to varsity. By 2016 they were nearly 50 undergraduates in the programme.
