John Scadding is a recently retired consultant neurologist, having worked for many years at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, and Whittington Hospital, London. He held honorary consultant appointments to the Royal Navy, the Royal Air Force, St Luke’s Hospital for the Clergy, and the Royal Society of Musicians. He was the Clinical Sub-Dean at the Institute of Neurology, and held visiting Professorships in Malaysia and Hong Kong.
At the Royal Society of Medicine he has been the Academic Dean, Trustee and Vice President, and is Chairman of its publishing company, RSM Press Ltd. In the 1990s he was Medical Director of the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery and then Deputy Medical Director of the UCLH NHS Trust. He is a Trustee of the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability, past Chairman of the Neuro-disability Research Trust, and Chairman of the Research Committee of The Cure Parkinson’s Trust.
